HOSTILE WHEELS HIGHLIGHTS STRENGTH AND CHARACTER THROUGH ITS ALIGNMENT WITH — ARIE LUYENDYK JR –OFF-ROAD RACE EXTRAORDINARE AND BRONZE MEDALIST IN 2015 X GAMES
CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., June 11, 2015 – For the past two years, Hostile Wheels, a division of Southern California-based MKW Alloy, Inc., has taken its lighter, larger and stronger wheels on a path of aggressive off-road competition to demonstrate its own extreme capabilities – and its alignment with Arie Luyendyk Jr and his role within the TORC Pro 2 Series and most recently the X Games, has more than substantiated the brand’s authenticity and durability within some of the most challenging settings. This past weekend, Luyendyk took home a Bronze medal for the Off-Road Truck Racing Competition within the 2015 X Games and highlighted his own abilities to out-perform those that are simply involved to merely compete.
“We couldn’t be more proud of the bold attitude and determination Arie continues to display throughout the entire off-road season,” said Bill Koenig, executive vice president for Hostile Wheels. “He’s been a great addition to our team, exemplifying the same attributes our wheels showcase – driving with purpose, fortitude and the strength of a true winner.” Hostile Wheels have propelled the weight optimization that Arie has relied upon throughout this year’s TORC Pro2 series – a program that has given him the extra confidence to excel in the X Games.
“Hostile’s ongoing support has allowed me the opportunity to train in challenging off-road environments, providing me the continued confidence to succeed,” said Luyendyk. His 3rd place victory in only his second year of X Games competition was an example of determination and resilience that brought his Robby Gordon Super Truck to a podium finish.
Competing in extreme events like the X Games and the TORC series offer brands like Hostile the ability to deliberately place their own products on the line within real situations – even tougher situations than an enthusiast might ever encounter, thus further testing the brand’s validity while creating proper engineering solutions to meet any challenge. “Off-road racing allows us the ability to generate scenarios that enthusiasts will often replicate in their own experiences, while offering the exposure that allows us to test and recreate even better products on an ongong basis – and all the while meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers,” noted Koenig.
Throughout the regular season Luyendyk competes in the TORC Pro 2 Series, with Hostile Wheels as a key sponsor providing an all-new forged bead-lock design that offers a stronger, lighter durability for off-road encounters and demonstrates the authenticity behind weight optimization. According to Koenig, the larger lighter wheels are engineered to provide lower brake temperatures and better brake fade resistance in challenging off-road environments, especially those experienced in off-road racing.
